Measuring magnetic excitations in K(NbO)Cu4(PO4)4
Abstract: I am working on a low dimensional quantum magnet family. A member of it, KNb, is a good experimental realisation of the squarelattice. It appears that this compound has a different magnetic structure than all the other members of this family. Our aim is tounderstand what are the effects on the magnetic excitations and to relate it to the high-symmetry features of this material. In order to be rigourous, we also would like to measure the powder spectrum of BaTi. Indeed, its single crystal inelastic spectrum hasbeen measured couple of years ago on IN5. Knowing the powder spectrum on this instrument would help us making a direct comparisonbetween BaTi and KNb.
