Investigating the quantum critical behavior of heavy fermion CeRh4Al15
Abstract: We have investigated new caged-type heavy fermion compound CeRh4Al15, which exhibits a huge Sommerfeld coefficient ~ 1 (J/K2 mol) at 0.4 K and no sign of long range magnetic ordering down to 0.4K. Question is whether the low temperature logarithmic rise in the heat capacity is due to a non-Fermi liquid (NFL) behaviour or some complex magnetic ordering below 0.4 K. In order to resolve this complexity in the heat capacity of CeRh4Al15, here, we propose muon spin resonance/rotation study down to 50 mK. µSR will be an ideal probe to understand the detail weak local magnetism in this system to understand the quantum critical behaviour and origin of the NFL behaviour in the heat capacity.
