Superconductivity of Zr-Be amorphous alloys as seen by Neutron Compton Scattering.
Abstract: In recent years there has been an intensive interest in binary amorphous alloys, in particular, in those based on Zr. These alloys can be rather conveniently formed in melt spinning over wide composition ranges and therefore provide a useful basis for a systematic study of the element and concentration dependence of various properties. Examples include structural properties, relaxation phenomena, crystallization, resistance, magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, electronic structure, and superconducting. We intend to check the theoretically predicted superconductive parameters by tracking the systematic changes in the nuclear kinetic energy of Zr and Be in Zr30Be70 and Zr40Be60 amorphous alloys below and above Tc in a mass-resolved manner using the VESUVIO spectrometer.
