Evaluation of the impact of oriented particles on the stress-induced martensitic transformation in stress-aged Co-Ni-Ga HTSMAs
Abstract: Using the SXD Laue Diffractometer we intend to conduct in-situ mechanical tests on Co49Ni21Ga30 single crystals of various orientations to assess martensite variant selection and twinning/detwinning mechanisms as a function of the morphology of oriented particles in order to shed light on the fundamental microstructural mechanisms leading to enhanced pseudoelastic properties of stress-aged Co-Ni-Ga high-temperature shape memory alloys (HTSMAs).
