Magnetic structure of geometrically frustrated metal PdCrO2
Abstract: The aim of the proposed experiment is two-fold, firstly to perform a test experiment using recently designed WISH goniometer on a crystal with magnetic domains. We believe that using the goniometer will allow collecting a sufficient number of reflections to properly refine the wavelength dependent extinction (which is the main issue of a quantitative analysis of single crystal diffraction data collected on WISH). Secondly to confirm the model of magnetic structure for PdCrO2 recently proposed by us based on diffraction measurements under uniaxial strain and symmetry arguments. The large number of reflections measured in the present experiment will allow a comprehensive symmetry assisted refinement of the magnetic structure, including refinement of the domain population.
