Determination of experimental compositions of half-Heusler thermoelectrics prepared via arc-melting
Abstract: Half-Heusler intermetallics are promising for application in thermoelectric waste heat recovery. In this experiment we want to use neutron powder diffraction to investigate the experimental compositions of a series of Ti1-xZr0.5xHf0.5xNiCuySn and ZrNi1+ySn half-Heuslers. This information is needed to link the measured thermoelectric properties to the experimental compositions of these samples. This knowledge will then feedback into our synthesis programme.
