Investigating the catalytic hydrogenation of palladium modified N-doped mesoporous carbon catalysts on aromatic compounds under atmospheric

Abstract: The nitrogen doped mesoporous carbon microsphere (N-MCM) with palladium nanoparticle (Pd/N-MCM) has been investigated for its excellent catalytic activity for hydrodechlorination (HDC) of chlorophenol under green conditions. The catalyst showed excellent conversion and selectivity in further hydrogenation at the atmospheric H2 pressure in one pot. However, the adsorption pattern on the substrate and the underlying mechanism is less understood due to the lack of suitable characterisation techniques. We hereby request beamtime on TOSCA to characterise the catalyst and investigate the role of nitrogen doped in the supporting substrate, as well as the mechanism of the reaction.
