Understanding the superconductivity in a designer high entropy alloy
Abstract: Understanding superconductivity has been a goal of condensed matter scientists since its discovery. However, there has been a continual discovery of new materials that challenge our understanding, requiring further examination of their properties and the underlying mechanisms. Recently, superconductivity was found in a high-entropy alloy, namely: Ta34Nb33Hf8Zr14Ti11. Whilst the number of high entropy alloys (HEAs) is almost unlimited, this is the first example which shows superconductivity.
