Probing the [FeFe]-hydrogenase subsite using muon spectroscopy

Abstract: Previous ALC measurements of the Fe2(pdt)(CO)4(PMe3)2 and [Fe2(pdt)(CO)4(CN)2]2- (referred to as 1 and 2) model hydrogenase subsites have yielded some intriguing results (RB 1510387). The presence of multiple ligand types at the metal centres of 1 and 2 makes a full analysis of of the muoniation sites complex. We propose a study of a simpler system, the Fe2(pdt)(CO)6, where there is a single ligand type and therefore fewer possible muoniated isomers.
