Investigation of glycolide-h4 and –d4 at high pressure.
Abstract: This proposal seeks to investigate the polymorphism and polymerisation of glycolide. Glycolide is a six-memebered ring structure that polymerises into poly(glycolic acid) and is used in the co-polymer PLGA. We seek to investigate whether we can polymerise this material through the use of pressure alone. Futhermore we seek to investgate whether we are able to analyse hydrogenated materials using Neutron diffraction on the powder diffraction station at PEARL.
