Structure of the fast lithium ion conducting phases of LiInBr4
Abstract: One day of beamtime on GEM will be used to analyse the structure of fast lithium-ion conducting LiInBr4 above and below the phase transition at 53 °C. We will determine the defect structure and Li+/In3+ ion distribution in both phases. The structural changes of the compound from 25-80 °C will be probed for the first time. Moreover, the variable temperature data will provide valuable information on the mechanism of Li+ conduction in the ternary bromide.
