Are Ca2LaFe2SbO9, SrLa2FeNiSbO9 and CaLa2FeCoSbO9 relaxor ferromagnets?
Abstract: La3Ni2SbO9 exhibits relaxor ferromagnetic behaviour in an analogous way to relaxor ferroelectrics. To investigate whether relaxor ferromagnetic behaviour can also occur in iron-containing compounds we synthesised novel Ca2LaFe2SbO9, SrLa2FeNiSbO9 and CaLa2FeCoSbO9. Magnetometry measurements are very promising with Ca2LaFe2SbO9, SrLa2FeNiSbO9 and CaLa2FeCoSbO9 having Curie temperatures of around 280 K, 280 K and 270 K. We request a day on GEM to collect data on all three compounds at room temperature and at 5 K to determine their crystal and magnetic structures.
