Glycerol Carbonate

Abstract: Glycerol carbonate has potential to become one of the most important sustainable chemical intermediates of the future. It has imprtant uses as a solvent, as a chemical, and as a route to enhancing the value of glycerol waste co-produced with biodiesel from vegetable oils. This experiment aims to determine the liquid structure and hydrogen-bonding present in liquid glycerol carbonate in order to understanding it's utility as a non-aqueous solvent.
