A new approach to monitoring copper corrosion using polarised neutron reflection
Abstract: The aim of this experiment is to test a new approach to monitoring the corrosion of copper using polarised neutron reflection to simultaneously measure two contrasts with time. This will aid the model fitting to the changing copper surface, providing greater mechanistic information about the corrosion process. Here this will be used to determine the effect of increasing amounts of organic thiol on the corrosion of copper by elemental sulphur in the presence of organic amine.
