WATER DYNAMICS IN FERROFLUIDS

Abstract: Magnetic fluids are used in conjunction with applied magnetic fields in several medical applications including drug and gene delivery, imaging and hyperthermia cancer therapy. Ferrofluids consisting of iron oxide nanoparticles suspended in water are biocompatible and already clinically approved. In this context, we propose to study the effects of the application of magnetic fields similar to those used in medical applications on the dynamics of water molecules in ferrofluids.
