The Effect of the Polar Interfaces on the Exchange Bias in NiO/EuO(001) Heterostructure
Abstract: The study of the interfaces of multi-layer heterostructures have attracted a great attention as they exhibit new properties at the interface, while leaving the bulk layers unaffected. Various changes in magnetism, electrical conductivity, superconductivity and the formation of two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) have been reported in different oxide structures. Therefore, they are potential materials for different technological applications, such as in spintronics. We propose to study the effect of polar interfaces on the exchange bias and the creation of 2DEG in NiO/EuO structure using off-specular polarised neutron reflectivity.
