Optimization of anticoincidence setup for Compton Suppression in Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis
Abstract: Beam time is required to test the proper functioning of anti-coincident set-up specifically designed to actualize Compton suppression in Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis spectra at ISIS Neutron Source. The elimination of background component, present in all these spectra so far acquired using only one High Purity germanium detector (HPGe), limits the correct identification of peaks but above all limits the signal-to-background ratio directly related to signal quality.
