Inelastic neutron scattering study of polycrystalline half-Heusler thermoelectrics
Abstract: The aim of the proposal is to determine detailed phonon density of states data for a range of half-Heusler samples, and combine this with DFT modelling in collaboration with Prof. Keith Refson to understand the large reductions in thermal conductivity observed in nanostructured half-Heuslers.
