Diffusion in a zeolite under flow conditions
Abstract: Quasielastic neutron scattering is often used to measure the diffusion of organic materials inside the pores of catalysts. Although generally performed in a sealed system, a flowing reactor is of greater interest as it more closely reflects realistic use of the materials. If it is possible to make these measurements it will demonstrate that it should be possible to measure reacting samples in-situ. There is also the possibility that such a system may provide insight into flow patterns within a reactor. This experiment aims to be the first quasielastic neutron scattering study performed under a gas flow using newly created sample cans.
