Depth profiling in PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3 and PFe1/2Nb1/2O3 using muons:
Abstract: The proposal requests time to nondestructively analyse the composition of two relaxor ferroelectrics as a function of depth. Both PMN and PFN are disordered lead based ferroelectrics that show a skin effect where the ~100 microns on the surface have different structural properties than the bulk. The proposal aims to either establish or rule out the possibility of chemical inhomogeneity.
