Negatively Charged Muons as an Elemental Probe Depth Profiling of the Elemental Composition in cast Bronze/Brass Renaissance Statuettes.
Abstract: The use of negative muons in composition depth profiling will be tested on 4 Renaissance statutes in order to determine their alloy composition, changes in alloy composition as function of depth in the cast. Also probing the chemical composition of the mould material in closed object will be investigated. We request 4 days beam time on CHRONUS for this study.
