Investigation of magnetic ground state of a spin-˝ metal-organic kagomé system
Abstract: The spin ˝ kagomé Heisenberg antiferromagnet (AFM) is an ideal system to look for a large variety of interesting properties characterized by exotic magnetic ground states. Here we propose to investigate the magnetic ground state and spin dynamics in a new spin-˝ metal-organic kagomé compound {[Cu3(CO3)2(bpe)3]•2ClO4}n (bpe = 1,2-bis(4 pyridyl)ethane), having ideal 2D kagomé layers of Cu2+ (3d9, S =1/2), by a combination of zero-field, longitudinal-field, and weak transverse field muon spin rotation measurements down to 0.3 K using the MuSR/EMU spectrometer. The thermodynamic and neutron diffraction measurements on the compound show no long-range magnetic ordering down to 1.5 K.
