Deformation texture of advanced high-temperature structural materials
Abstract: Interest and demand on increasing the application temperature of high temperature materials requires new and or improved materials and production processes to be developed. In this experiment, we will investigate the effect of deformation conditions on the crystallographic texture evolution in two such materials: a new Ni-based superalloys, and a novel two-phase high entropy alloy. The samples are taken from tensile specimens previously deformed in-situ at ENGIN-X at different temperatures. The proposed experiments are essential to understand the deformed microstructure in a comprehensive manner, and will be used as input for elasto-plastic self-consistent (EPSC) modelling of the in-situ tests, as well as validation data for these models.
