Understanding Emergent Magnetisation Dynamics in Interconnected Nanomagnets
Abstract: Rapid access for three days of OFFSPEC beam time is requested to expand our recent investigations of emergent magnetisation dynamics in ensembles of interconnected ring-shaped nanowires. In recent polarised neutron reflectivity (PNR) studies at OFFSPEC we showed that when these ensembles are subjected to rotating magnetic fields they host dynamic populations of domain walls, the equilibrium number of which develops emergently from the nature of domain wall interactions at ring junctions, which we control with the strength of the applied field. Here, we propose to expand our data by using PNR to study the processes by which equilibrium is reached, with the ultimate aim of generating sufficient data for a high impact publication.
