Neutron techniques applied to the investigation of ancient commercial Books for Salviati Archive (XVI Century A.D.).
Abstract: Salviati archive in Pisa has a huge collection, which spans several hundreds of years in history. The research team propose to investigate two commercial books using Neutron Diffraction and Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis technique. These neutron techniques will allow the phase, elemental/isotopic composition of a written hidden part of the books cover in a non-destructive and non-invasive way. The measurements will take place in INES beamline using a dedicated instrumentation installed by the proponent team.
