Investigation of lithium diffusion in N-doped Li3+xVO4-xNx ceramics using µSR
Abstract: We wish to complete muon spectroscopic experiments on materials from a ceramic system of interest for possible solid electrolyte applications in lithium-ion battery devices: N-doped Li3+xVO4-xNx. Muon spectroscopy will provide us with a means of determining the key parameters of Li diffusion (Li-ion diffusion rates and activation energies) in our paramagnetic ion-containing materials. Similar data cannot be obtained using any other technique. We request 2 days of beamtime on the EMU beamline as a continuation project to complete promising work that could not be satisfactorily completed during a previous visit.
