Temperature dependence of the diffuse magnetic scattering in CsNiCl3: SXD data for modelling: Continuation Rb1720516.
Abstract: The compound CsNiCl3 crystallises in a hexagonal structure and is comprised of chains of NiCl6 octahedra along the c-axis and Cs in-between acting as a spacer to separate the NiCl6 chains. In this proposal, we would like to complete a previous experiment in particular to capture an intermediate magnetic phase and propose to collect additional data sets at 4 K and 4.35 K, i.e. just below in within this phase. At 10K we will observe the diffuse magnetic signal in the paramagnetic phase. For this we ask for 4 days on SXD equipped with an orange cryostat.
