Search for antiferromagnetic coupling in ferromagnetic oxide LSMO-LCMO multilayers
Abstract: La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO) and La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) are two oxide ferromagnetic materials. They will be grown on single crystal SrTiO3 substrate. This allows a highly textured growth. Such heterostructures show interesting magnetic behaviour at their interfaces. From macroscopic magnetization measurements we observe that there is a possible anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) coupling between these two oxide ferromagnets below their Curie temperature (~ 150 K). There is a signature of the possible AFM coupling in magnetization data. This will be probed using depth-sensitive polarized neutron reflectometry on POLREF instrument at ISIS.
