The application of INS to investigate the methanol-to-gasoline reaction over ZSM-5
Abstract: As part of a UK Catalysis Hub initiative in Catalyst Design involving a team of academic and industrial researchers, the methanol-to-gasoline reaction over zeolite catalysts is being investigated. INS measurements of the catalyst post-reaction will supplement complementary synchrotron measurements, which will be further backed up by a series of characterization procedures undertaken at the academic centers. A previous allocation of MERLIN beamtime (RB1320360) has established that INS investigations of this economically relevant reaction system can provide new information on the mechanistic concept of a “hydrocarbon pool”.
