Nano-Sized Effects on Spin Dynamics of La2-xSrxCuO4 Nanoparticles
Abstract: Magnetic nanoparticles raised great attention in both fundamental and application aspects. The magnetic properties possess significant differences from that observed in the bulk case. In the case of high-Tc superconductor cuprates, La2-xSrxCuO4, a hysteresis loop at 300 K was observed when the particle size was reduced to 64 nm. Other non-magnetic nanoparticles reported similar behaviour but the reason for the appearance of magnetism is not well explained yet. In addition, in a high-Tc superconductor, it is believed that superconducting and magnetism are intertwined with each other which is proposed to explain the origin of the superconductivity. Here, we propose to study nano-size effects on the magnetic state and spin dynamics of La2-xSrxCuO4 nanoparticles.
